Flirt FM Election Policy – Midlands North West
Flirt FM is a community Radio station based in Galway city, operating under a community licence, is a member of Craol and operates under the principles of the AMARC Community Radio Charter for Europe and is licenced for FM broadcast by Coimisiún na Meán.
Due to the unprecedented number of candidates and the resources available to the station at present Flirt FM will prioritise candidates running for election in our broadcast area with respect to the diversity of political approaches present. Depending on resources this may take the form of an interview, panel discussion or in the absence of the candidate by arrangement a written statement of representation not
exceeding 300 words which may be used as source material for representation. Flirt FM may also invite elected local candidates to engage in online surveying or polling. Interviews with candidates will be spread over a number of days.
Filming, photographing or third party recording of candidate interviews, staff and volunteers within the station is not permitted for private or use on any social media platform, as is unapproved usage of Flirt FM branding or audio on third party social media or video platforms, though candidates may be asked to be photographed or supply a photo of their selection for usage in online publication (Soundcloud, Website, X, Instagram etc.) related to our election coverage.
