Galway Air Pollution Above WHO Limits

People Before Profit Galway has highlighted the persistent exceedance of safe air pollution levels dictated by the World Health Organisation in 2021.

Maisie McMaster, People before Profit representative for Galway West speaks to Flirt FM about the pollution regulations and the differences between the EU and the WHO

People Before Profit are calling for more pollution monitoring across Galway

Eyre Square and Briarhill are unfortunately the only locations we have public data available for. Rahoon has a sensor but that data is unavailable. We greatly need Galway City Council, in conjunction with the EPA, to expand our air quality detection network so that we can adequately protect people whilst simultaneously helping the environment. We are hoping the Clean Air together project will help shine some light on air pollution patterns

Denman Rooke, Galway City East
