Meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of every month but not on bank holidays. We need everyone's help, it's our job to raise awareness and get the government and big business to make real changes. You don't have to loose the car and never eat meat to join us, we need everyone who cares about making this planet a better place to live. The more people who attend the more we can get done so do please try and come. Meetings at 6 pm at an Mheitheal Rothar, near the Cathedral. We try to keep the meetings short, max 1.5hrs.

Blanket Fort Sessions

The Ol' 55
Blanket Fort Sessions is a new open mic night open to any and all artists in Galway, run by Diffused Theatre Company and hosted in The Ol 55 on Prospect Hill.
Blanket Fort Sessions can include all types of creative sharing including poetry, stories, comedy, music, movement* and scenes, even just passages of something you read and would like to share and doesn't necessarily have to be your own work.
There is a small fee of €2 on the door to cover expenses. We encourage a warm, cosy and open atmosphere. You're even welcome to come dressed in pyjamas.

Art Beats - Tintoretto: A Rebel in Venice

'Tintoretto: A Rebel in Venice' tells the story of the painter Jacopo Robusti (1519-1594), the only great Renaissance artist to never leave Venice (even during the plague years) who earned the moniker of Tintoretto, or the Little Dyer, thanks to his father’s profession.
Through the life of the painter, the film outlines the socio-political context of 16th century Venice.

TULCA Festival of Visual Arts and Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture present: UnSelfing; a programme of exhibitions, performances and encounters with visual art taking place in Galway and across the country.

It takes as its theme Iris Murdoch’s concept of UnSelfing; the idea that in order to find inner truth, it is necessary to seek outside of one’s self; to be curious about the people, places and ideas that surround us. 
The first event of the UnSelfing programme, Arrivals is a dynamic launch event featuring a newly commissioned performance entitled Weather Gods. This performance is by Isadora Epstein and it will take place on the Galway to Gort train as it travels between the two locations, highlighting UnSelfing’s theme of interior and exterior journeys.

Welcome to the open mic. All musicians are welcome to come in and hone their talents at Open Night at Roisin Dubh. Just join in and sign up at nine pm sharp in the beer garden! The primary focus is to create a good atmosphere for people to come in and try out their ideas and to do so with encouragement. This has been made possible by the truly fantastic crowds that have come in every Sunday over the past few years. Everyone is given attention, support and a chance to do their thing! A house guitar is provided for all.

Feminist Discussion Group

Rotating between feminist discussion evenings and organisational meetings. 
GFC think it is very important to talk about themes such as feminism, power, queer issues, human rights, capitalism and globalisation (among others), from an intersectional standpoint.

The Black Magic Big Band

The Black Magic Big Band is an 18 piece band playing the music made famous by the Dorsey, Basie, Herman, and Ellington bands through to funk and fusion of the modern era. The band is led by trumpeter and arranger John Fleming with fine soloists like Steve Hanks and Bertrand Huvé on sax,

Gabriel G. is a flute player and piper who has been part of Galwayʼs musical scene for the past 14 years. At the moment this Spanish-Irish musician is regularly involved in musical projects like John Conneely Inc.
