In Galway: Ideas Academy open, new bus network for the city
Social Entrepreneurs Ireland is encouraging people from Galway who have an innovative idea to solve a particular social problem to apply for a place on its two support programmes valued at €500,000. Applications for the Ideas Academy are open until midnight on Tuesday, 16th May and applications for the Impact Programme close at midnight on Tuesday, May 30th. The National Transport Authority (NTA) has published its draft new bus network for Galway. The redesign of the bus network is one of the nine key elements of BusConnects Galway that aims to fundamentally transform the city’s bus system, making public transport more useful to more people. The proposals are to increase the level of bus services in Galway city, Bearna and Oranmore by nearly 50%. Consultation on the draft new network will run for 6 weeks until Friday, 3rd June 2023. Public information events will take place from 16th to the 18th May while an online consultation process will allow members of the public to provide their feedback. https://publicproject.net/bus-network-galway
